Müll Club: Marmite Carabiners

We’re extremely proud to now stock Müll Club’s Recycled Plastic Carabiners, niftily made from old Marmite lids collected from households across the UK.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll likely be familiar with our enduring commitment to sustainability, and admiration for fellow brands making cool products using waste products. Take our beautiful Elvis & Kresse Fire-hose Belts for example, which are made from (you guessed it) decommissioned fire-hoses, or our Dashel Helmets with their recycled ghost net loops. You can only imagine our glee then, when we stumbled across Müll Club…
Founded two years ago by Charlie (who was running a refill shop in South East London and moved the recycling to Margate), Müll Club was born out of a frustration at how little of our curbside recycling is actually recycled. Since then, Charlie has recycled over 800kg of plastic to date, making carabiners, soap dishes, coasters, combs and more, all flecked with gorgeous colours that tell the tale of their former lives. What’s more, Charlie often runs inspiring recycling workshops at schools, and has even appeared on Dragon’s Den and in Vogue!

We’ve just added a batch of Müll Club’s Marmite Carabiners to our website, which come in varying shades of lemon yellow and are inscribed with the message "If not now, when?" - a call to immediate climate action. These one-of-a-kind carabiners are perfect for using as a key ring and attaching to the belt loops of your 002 or 003 Vaela jeans. When paired with our secret phone pocket, we dare say you might not even need a bag (though if you do, you know where to find our handsewn Musette).
