“I must admit that when I put them on, I then lived and died in them, wearing them on my various commutes around town and choosing to wear them for general day to day.”

from 42 reviewsThe fit and quality of these jeans is spot on. Really comfy, both on and off the bike. Look great too!
My Vaela jeans are not only great for cycling but everyday life. The attention to detail is reflected in their design. Super comfortable- love the pockets and high waist. Always a thumbs up for a sustainable product. I highly recommend them.
I’ve loved my Vaela jeans from the moment I unwrapped the first pair. Even before I put them on. The thought that’s gone into them, even down to printing the washing instructions on the pocket lining! Brilliant. And they’re so comfortable. And look great. And fit exactly as expected (perfectly). So I had to get a second pair. This time they were dispatched by Mailout and were so beautifully (and ethically) packaged that the postman was driven to comment as he handed over the package. Even better inside, could have been wrapped by angels. This probably sounds over the top but I’ve honestly never received anything so we’ll presented, and the jeans are just fab!!!
I was lucky enough to win this bag in a charity auction. I love the style, the effortless conversion from rucksack, to shoulder bag to pannier. It’s lovely to look at, has all the weather coating I need for the days I commute. Big enough for my laptop and books and shopping tours of my favourite vintage shops. The quality is superb. The black canvas is rich and deep. It’s comfy to carry and looks great. The ethical ingredients make it such an important purchase. There’s a magical clip that holds it securely on my bike rack. My bike ‘expert’ husband is envious. Thank you! X
Love my Vaela jeans. Flattering shape and good quality. Plus stretchy, soft and comfortable on my bike. Would recommend.
Got these for my mum who cycles a lot and she's really chuffed with them, both for cycling and everyday wear! She says she loves how stylish, ethical and comfortable they are, as well as the cycling-specific details like the reflective turn up. :)
I love this musette for when I want to travel light or have my things easily accessible when I'm riding from A to B. Way better than wrestling with a tote bag, which I used to use on my bike!
The reflective detailing is perfect for night riding, but subtle enough during the daytime. I also love the quality of the stitching and robustness of the fabric. Bonus points for using an ethical social enterprise to make these!
It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into both the design and eco-friendly production of this T-shirt.
It fits beautifully, with a tailored cut that’s flattering without being restrictive. The fabric is soft and breathable, making it perfect for long rides in varying weather conditions. It moves with you, so you never feel constricted while cycling.
The design strikes the perfect balance between sporty and stylish, making it versatile enough to wear off the bike too. It’s my go to for cycling events.
Couldn’t recommend this enough!
I’m loving this T-shirt. It’s great for cycling as It’s got length, for keeping your back warm when your pedalling and neat side panels give it a more flattering shape. I’m also loving it as a great addition to my everyday wardrobe, the cotton has a reassuring weight and feeling of quality, it’s nice to wear and looks smart. Gorgeous colour too.
I initially ordered these jeans as I was fed up with the decision paralysis that came with getting ready in the morning and trying to pick out a nice outfit that I could also comfortably ride in (my days often involve running errands or commuting by bike!).
I couldn't be happier with my pair of 002 Jeans, and any misconceptions about them erring on the side of 'jeggings' have been totally dispelled. The denim is beautiful, with the perfect amount of stretch to hug curves and move around in, without ending up with the dreaded baggy knee. The cut is sooo flattering on the bum, I love the deep pockets, and I'm so impressed by the cleverly designed crotch seams which mean you don't end up sitting on uncomfortable ridges when on the bike. I also really like the reflective detailing on the ankle cuffs, which makes me feel safer riding at night (I've had other riders ask me at the traffic lights where I got them!), but is suitably subtle when off the bike which is great as I've found that I wear them a lot day-to-day, not just cycling.
I also really rate how outspoken Vaela are around the sustainable production of their pieces - something that sealed the deal for me when looking to order.
If you're thinking about buying these jeans, do it!!
I saw this jacket at the Everything Electric show. It was being modelled by the very lovely Jo. She explained all about the brilliant features for cyclists - the reflective bits, the longer length at the back, the stretch etc. I’m absolutely not a cyclist, but it just looked great!
I am delighted with mine and it just makes me look like I’ve made an effort in that cool, understated way. I am oh so NOT cool!
I can confirm that it stretches/moves in all the right places and is comfortable to wear in a restaurant/bar/cafe with overzealous aircon in an April where aircon was absolutely not needed!
Great service and good pricing
I buy jeans every few years because I love them on others and then I seldom wear them.
I came across these jeans at a Christmas fair and tried them on. They looked well and other folks around said I looked good. But I didn't trust them really, they were selling at the fair too :-), but I did fancy the idea of riding my bike without layers of denim seams on the crotch, having to shuffle around on the saddle to give the tender parts a break and wouldn't it be wonderful to avoid that lower back draught with a lovely high waistband on the back. You know what I mean?
Plus, these have enough stretch to be close fitting and still work on a bike.
I'm a palazzo & sailor trouser type of girl so I've had many encounters with bike chains, oil marks on trousers or style failures like rolled-up-to-the-knee trousers.
On balance, the functional features were enough to buy the jeans and if I only wore them on rides I'd be a happy cyclist.
But the story has unfolded a little differently.
I've had quite a lot of (unprompted) feedback. Someone on the street asked me what brand they were and why they only had one jazzy rolled up cuff (spot the non-cyclist!) Of course, I gave her the full run-down of special features for cycling, even though she didn't ask and I didn't let her glazed-over face curb my enthusiasm.
I know they are a great cycle experience. I don't like to wear sports gear on urban commuting or rides. But I love that they really are nice looking jeans and are flattering on the body.
And let's look at the fabric. I sew, so fabric is important to me. And especially in jeans it can make or break them. These are a mid-weight - not totally rigid but with enough rigidity to hold shape and not have seat and knee bagginess and they have elastane to aid recovery and offer comfort. The fabric looks quite Japanesey, which is a tick in my book.
So, there you have it. I'm very happy with them (just in case that wasn't clear).
